David Kelleher Joins Home Foward Board

August 24, 2011 -- Business and civic leader David Kelleher has joined the Board of Commissioners at Home Forward. Kelleher, who is a principal and co-founder of ACME Business Consulting, fills a Portland seat on the board and was appointed by the Portland City Council. Home Forward is Oregon's largest affordable housing provider and the new name for the Housing Authority of Portland.

Board Chair Lee Moore said Kelleher's management consulting experience and dedication to community service make him a good fit for the board. "David's experience in helping organizations be more successful is a tremendous asset at a time when federal resources for Home Forward are declining. In addition, he serves on the boards of Janus Youth Projects and Junior Achievement, which gives him a deep understanding of the challenges faced by people of limited means."

Kellher said Home Forward's approach to its mission was particularly appealing to him. "While having a home can make a tremendous difference, Home Forward recognizes it also takes more than shelter to help people in need realize their potential. They are forging stronger collaborations with partners across the community to provide service and support along with a home. I'd like to help ensure this innovation can continue to thrive in a challenging operating environment."
